Residential Replacement
Cost of installation can vary quite a bit depending what type of equipment is being installed, where it is being
installed and if there are any special requirements needed. As an example, a small 2-ton unit being installed
in a garage next to the driveway where the air handler is in the garage on an existing platform and the
condensing unit sits right next to the garage on the ground would be on the less expensive side. A 5-ton unit in a highrise building where the condensing unit must be crane-lifted to the roof, etc. would cost more, of course. Without close inspection of your particular residence and needs, we can't give you a firm price for a new system and installation. However, with just a phone call, we CAN give you a range, and with an onsite inspection, we can give you a quote. Call us to discuss your needs. At Arnold's, we won't pressure you!
General System Sizing
To determine the right replacement system for your home, a professionally conducted load calculation will be conducted, which includes measuring the square footage and determining at many points within your home its ability to contain the newly conditioned air. Following are the general sizing guidelines for homes in South Florida. The actual unit size appropriate for your residence may vary.
- 1.5 TONS: 600 to 900 square feet
- 2 TONS: 901 to 1,200 square feet
- 2.5 TONS: 1,201 to 1,500 square feet
- 3 TONS: 1,501 to 1,800 square feet
- 3.5 TONS: 1,801-2,200 square feet
- 4 TONS: 2,101 to 2,400 square feet
- 5 TONS: 2,401 to 3,000 square feet
- Homes larger than 3,000 square feet may require multiple units.

Top 3 Reasons to Choose Arnold's
Experience matters! At Arnold's AC, we have lived, worked and played in South Florida for most of our adult lives. We know firsthand what it's like from both the customer's perspective and the contractor's perspective. That's why we're passionate about what we do and how we do it. Our team provides only the highest quality repairs using OEM replacement parts, honest maintenance and recommendations, and top brand names and installations.
Considering a trusted handyman to repair your AC or install a new system in order to save a few dollars? Don't do it! Most handymen don't have the knowledge, experience or even the tools to do adequate HVAC work, let alone are licensed, bonded and fully insured. The likelihood that your short-term savings will end up costing more over the long haul is high, and if your home or system is damaged by a nonprofessional, you have little financial recourse.
At Arnold's AC, early on we got hooked on the smiles and thank yous that always seem to immediately follow a repair or new system installation. Even an hour or two without AC here in South Florida can be miserable, and when a customer's system kicks in again, it makes us feel like a hero. We get similar satisfaction when a customer after decades calls us again for a new system. It's this kind of customer satisfaction that feeds our passion to be the best at what we do.
